Prof. Dr Judy Larsen

Dr. Judy Larsen (she/her) is an associate professor at the University of the Fraser Valley in Canada, and has been exploring and supporting Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) since 2011. A close collaborator of Dr. Peter Liljedahl, Judy brings a unique perspective shaped by both academic research and years of practical experience in classrooms and professional learning settings.
She works with educators across K–12 and post-secondary levels to bring BTC to life through hands-on workshops and thoughtful conversations about teaching, learning, and equity in mathematics. Her research focuses on how teachers grow in their practice and how we can reimagine mathematics education to be more inclusive, engaging, and responsive to learners.
